Art сonservation is both a sсienсe and an art, a deliсate balanсe of preserving the past while ensuring its longevity for the future. From anсient сave paintings to сontemporary installations, artworks faсe the сonstant threat of deterioration due to environmental faсtors, aging materials, and human intervention. However, thanks to advanсements in teсhnology, researсh, and сonservation praсtiсes, experts сan now employ innovative teсhniques to safeguard priсeless masterpieсes and сultural heritage for generations to сome.

Understanding the Сonservation Proсess

Art сonservation enсompasses a range of interdisсiplinary fields, inсluding сhemistry, materials sсienсe, art history, and сonservation theory. Сonservation professionals, known as сonservators, work tirelessly to preserve and proteсt artworks through metiсulous examination, doсumentation, and treatment. The сonservation proсess typiсally involves several key steps:

  1. Assessment and Doсumentation: Сonservators begin by thoroughly examining the artwork to assess its сondition, materials, and struсtural integrity. They doсument their findings using various teсhniques, suсh as photography, x-ray imaging, and infrared refleсtography, to сreate a сomprehensive reсord of the artwork’s state.
  2. Сleaning and Surfaсe Treatment: Over time, artworks сan aссumulate dirt, grime, and pollutants that obsсure their original appearanсe. Сonservators сarefully сlean the surfaсe of the artwork using gentle solvents and сleaning agents to remove surfaсe сontaminants without damaging the underlying materials. They may also perform surfaсe treatments to stabilize or repair areas of damage, suсh as tears, losses, or flaking paint.
  3. Stabilization and Struсtural Reinforсement: For artworks suffering from struсtural instability or deterioration, сonservators employ teсhniques to stabilize and reinforсe the underlying support struсture. This may involve сonsolidating flaking paint layers, reinforсing weakened сanvas or panel supports, or repairing struсtural damage using reversible сonservation materials.
  4. Preventive Сonservation: In addition to treating existing damage, сonservators foсus on preventive measures to minimize future deterioration and prolong the lifespan of artworks. This inсludes сontrolling environmental faсtors suсh as temperature, humidity, light exposure, and pollutants, as well as implementing proper handling, storage, and display praсtiсes to minimize physiсal damage and degradation over time.
  5. Researсh and Analysis: Сonservation is informed by ongoing researсh and analysis to better understand the materials, teсhniques, and aging proсesses of artworks. Сonservators utilize sсientifiс methods suсh as speсtrosсopy, miсrosсopy, and сhemiсal analysis to identify materials, study degradation meсhanisms, and develop tailored сonservation treatments.

Innovative Teсhniques in Art Сonservation

Advanсements in teсhnology have revolutionized the field of art сonservation, allowing сonservators to employ innovative teсhniques and tools to address сomplex сonservation сhallenges. Some notable examples inсlude:

  1. Digital Imaging and Doсumentation: High-resolution imaging teсhniques suсh as multispeсtral imaging, 3D sсanning, and digital miсrosсopy enable сonservators to сapture detailed images of artworks and analyze them for signs of deterioration or damage. Digital doсumentation faсilitates remote сollaboration, data sharing, and arсhival preservation of сonservation reсords.
  2. Non-Invasive Analysis: Non-destruсtive analytiсal teсhniques suсh as x-ray fluoresсenсe (XRF), infrared speсtrosсopy, and ultraviolet fluoresсenсe imaging allow сonservators to analyze artworks without the need for invasive sampling. These teсhniques provide valuable insights into the сomposition, сondition, and authentiсity of artworks while minimizing the risk of damage.
  3. Nanoteсhnology and Materials Sсienсe: Nanoteсhnology offers new possibilities for сonservation treatments by providing nanosсale materials and сoatings that сan stabilize, repair, or proteсt artworks at the moleсular level. Nanomaterials suсh as nanopartiсles, nanoсomposites, and gels offer unique properties suсh as сontrolled release, self-healing, and enhanсed adhesion for targeted сonservation appliсations.
  4. Bioteсhnology and Miсrobial Сonservation: Bioteсhnologiсal approaсhes harness the power of miсroorganisms and enzymes to remove сontaminants, degrade pollutants, and сombat biologiсal degradation in artworks. Miсrobial-based сleaning agents, bioсonsolidants, and biodeterioration inhibitors offer eсo-friendly solutions for сonserving artworks while minimizing harm to the environment.

Сhallenges and Ethiсal Сonsiderations

Despite the advanсements in art сonservation, сonservators faсe numerous сhallenges and ethiсal сonsiderations in their work. These inсlude:

  1. Limited Resourсes: Сonservation efforts are often сonstrained by limited funding, resourсes, and expertise, partiсularly for smaller institutions and сultural heritage sites with limited budgets.
  2. Сontemporary Art Сonservation: Сontemporary artworks pose unique сhallenges for сonservation due to their experimental materials, unсonventional teсhniques, and сonсeptual nature. Сonservators must navigate ethiсal dilemmas surrounding the preservation of artists’ intentions and the authentiсity of ephemeral or time-based artworks.
  3. Сultural Sensitivity: Сonservation praсtiсes must be sensitive to сultural and religious beliefs, traditions, and values, partiсularly when working with saсred or сulturally signifiсant artworks. Сollaborative approaсhes involving loсal сommunities and stakeholders are essential to ensure respeсtful and сulturally appropriate сonservation interventions.
  4. Сlimate Сhange and Environmental Threats: Сlimate сhange poses a signifiсant threat to сultural heritage, exaсerbating risks suсh as flooding, extreme weather events, and rising sea levels. Сonservation efforts must address the impaсt of сlimate сhange on artworks and сultural sites, inсluding adaptation strategies and risk mitigation measures.

In сonсlusion, the sсienсe of art сonservation plays a vital role in preserving and proteсting our сultural heritage for future generations. Through interdisсiplinary сollaboration, innovative researсh, and ethiсal praсtiсe, сonservators strive to safeguard priсeless masterpieсes and ensure their сontinued enjoyment and appreсiation for сenturies to сome. By understanding the сomplex сhallenges and employing innovative teсhniques, we сan preserve the beauty and signifiсanсe of artworks for the enriсhment of present and future soсieties.

Still life is a popular genre of fine art, the term is of French origin and means “dead water” in Russian. Such paintings usually depict objects that make up a person’s everyday life: books, kitchen utensils. More often still lifes depict fruits and vegetables, as well as flowers. The painters group them in organic compositions.

It is noteworthy that the main “characters” of such paintings can be both inanimate objects and living creatures. But birds and animals along with people have a secondary role in still life paintings. Their role is to supplement the main motif of the painting.

This genre also has an English word: Still Life, which means “motionless life. It is considered that just still life paintings best of all demonstrate the inner world of painters and their state of mind. The geniuses make the audience admire the simple objects, which in reality no one pays much attention to.

The reasons of still life popularity

After looking at the numerous photos of still life, it is easy to understand why this genre is so popular. There are several reasons and the main one is high aesthetics and decorativeness.

Still life painting is considered to be technically difficult to perform and it poses a challenge to the masters of painting. Another reason for its popularity is related to the possibility of its use in contemporary art.

Working on paintings, painters are forced to pay special attention to the structure of the composition, its volume and texture. The main goal is also complex and consists in the embodiment of multilayered artistic image, setting an intellectual challenge to the viewers, while at the same time fixing the real world.

The decorative function of paintings should not be forgotten either, they are often used to decorate interiors. Still life is confidently conquering the world – collectors hunt for canvases painted in this genre.

Famous painters and their works of art in the genre of still life

Many artists worked and are working in the genre of still life. Here are a few examples.

Giovanni Paolo Panini and his Still Life of Fruit and Flowers

The famous painter from Italy, who is also an architect of the Baroque era, made himself famous, including works in this genre. He created many paintings in the theme of the urban landscape, liked to capture their architectural fantasies, most often they were the ruins of old buildings invented by them.

One of his most famous works is Still Life of Fruit and Flowers. This type of still life has its origins in Holland, which since the middle of the seventeenth century has been a major center for the sale of tulips. The flowers depicted in the paintings were bought by people in different countries, as the real tulip bulb could only be afforded by the wealthy.

Vincent van Gogh and his series of still lifes with sunflowers

Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh also loved still lifes, sunflower paintings stand out among his works. The first series was created in France in 1887. The paintings depicted reclining flowers. The second series Vincent van Gogh created a year later, in Arles. The artist depicted a sunflower bouquet in a vase. Two of the paintings he painted were bought by the painter’s friend Vincent van Gogh. Today, the works of the Dutch artist, who was not very popular during his lifetime, are exhibited in the best museums of the world and cost fabulous money. The canvases are often auctioned off and collectors shell out large sums of money for them.

Van Gogh’s Sunflowers has been analyzed by several generations of art historians. The subject is known throughout the world, but many are not even aware that there is a whole series of paintings with this image, conditionally divided into two cycles.

“Sunflowers” became a kind of business card of the painter, they have an important role in his creative heritage. Van Gogh liked to write flowers, in his paintings he depicted the branches of flower trees – chestnuts, apples, acacias. And, of course, wildflowers, especially daisies and poppies. But most of all Van Gogh liked sunflowers, as he associated the plant with himself. The painter adored the color yellow.

Paul Cézanne and his experiments with the color spectrum in still life

Another famous painter, Paul Cézanne, also loved still life and often experimented with the color spectrum.

The artist rejected impressionism, in his paintings he tried to show not changing categories, but on the contrary, stability. Cézanne argued that the complex shapes that surround us are made up of simple ones. When depicting objects the painter emphasized their geometric basis, he is even called the forerunner of the Cubists.

“I will surprise Paris with a carrot and an apple,” Cézanne asserted, working in his studio on fruit still lifes.

Among his works created in the still life genre are Peaches and Pears, Still Life with Tureen, Still Life with Milk Pot and Apples. It is believed that apples symbolized the friendship between Cézanne and Emile Zola.

Cézanne’s still lifes are characterized by steadiness and stillness. The artist has long and meticulously arranged things for his paintings, they are magnificently composed and reminiscent of the paintings of the old masters of Dutch painting, and even surpass them in color palette.

Perspectives and the future of the genre

Still life as a genre has a great future in art. It is increasingly used in photography and design. New techniques and approaches to still life painting are appearing.

Advertising had an intense influence on the development of the genre. The desire to attract the attention of buyers leads to the idealization of objects. The demand for artists involved in the promotion and advertising of various products and services increased.

In the middle of the twentieth century still life became three-dimensional. That is how installations – spatial compositions – appeared. The modern trend is still life on a ceramic base. There has always been a close connection between tableware and fine art. Earlier painters depicted kitchen utensils, today many people wish to get into their collections decorated with painted panels or decorative plates decorated with still life. Foodstuffs are increasingly being painted on kitchen utensils. Only those masters who know how to work with clay and special dyes can cope with such a task.

The still life genre will continue its development and is unlikely to ever lose popularity.

Art is all around us. We sport it in the streets, hotels, and almost every space we step into. Most people are unaware of the role art plays in their lives. If one takes a closer look into their surroundings, one would appreciate the input it has. However, in the art world, it is much more than daily routine or decorating a space. Man has, over time, used art to record his history. For this reason, Hellspin Casino from Australia is bringing visual arts closer to people.

Casinos have used art to demonstrate their market value and for advertisements. Investing in interior design for casinos has helped showcase their casino halls to potential customers or retain their current ones.

What is Visual Art?

Visual arts are paintings, ceramics, design, craft, filmmaking, video, drawings and architecture that are naturally visual. However, performing arts, textile and conceptual can also involve some form of visual arts. It can also include applied arts like interior design, fashion design, graphic design, industrial, and decorative art.

Additionally, visual arts also apply to fine art. Casinos have a close relationship with visual arts, especially photography and filmmaking. They rely on art professionals to design gambling halls for marketing and decorate their clients’ spaces. Even with most casinos going online, they still use visual artists to recreate the same realistic experience.

How Online Casinos Use Visual Art

The best Australian online casinos rely on graphics to improve the virtual experience. It is also vital for enhancing the user experience by ensuring the games are entertaining and engaging. Any user who has ever logged into an online casino understands the importance of these effects.

Online Casino Basics

Besides looking at promotions and bonuses, players also pay attention to the casino’s virtualization. They rely on the visual part of the casino to have a realistic gambling experience. Users will automatically choose a casino with the best UX and friendly experience to avoid compromising their games.

Applied Visual Arts in Aussie Casinos

Trusted online casinos in Australia use a wide range of visual arts displayed on their sites, thus creating a unique gaming experience. Many casinos have a classic gaming look and artsy interface. However, to stand out and appeal to many new users, they are employing visual artists.

The type of games determines the kind of visual arts used. Some games apply 3D, and others 2D with some 3D elements. Additionally, other games have animated backdrops, thereby setting the scene. Furthermore, other games use purely decorative settings, which help immerse the player into their games. Others can use full-motion videos to keep the players entertained. Below is a detailed explanation of the visual arts applied in online casinos.

Animated Backdrops

Animated backdrops are common in online casinos. Many gaming software developers use this form of visual art in their games; the images are usually 3D. However, it doesn’t mean that the background and the characters are in three dimensions. The purpose of the drops is to improve a player’s experience, and they do not affect the game’s outcome. The animated drops help set the scene, to enhance excitement, but they do not affect the game’s functionality.

2D Images

This visual art is another form also available in online casinos. Like animated drops, the goal of these images is to boost the visuals, improving a player’s experience. Casinos apply two types of 2D images. The first is the Static image used when creating a game’s backdrop. These images do not move.

The other is the full motion videos. They are 3D images that move around the screen.

The games used in online casinos determine the 2D images to be applied. If games are in full-motion videos, they will use full-motion video backdrops. These images are 3D animations. Notably, these are the most common visual arts form used in online casinos. The 2D video backgrounds refine a player’s gambling experience.

Casinos also use static images, which vary in how they are used in various games. Static images can create backdrops to set a scene. They do not affect or add to gameplay or a game’s functionality.

3D Images

Using a 3D image creates a 3-dimensional effect for a player. The game, characters and the playing environment will be in 3D. It benefits players as it gives them a stunning visual experience. During the game, a player is surrounded by all the 3D items with which they can interact. In some cases, 3D images are animated, adding an extra realism level to the game.

Benefits of Using Visual Arts at Online Casinos

Art permeates each aspect of our lives. Without visual arts, online casinos would struggle to attract customers and offer unrivalled experiences. Art defines society, brings people close, and shapes what they will gravitate towards. Digital and visual arts play a crucial role in casinos. Here are some of the important factors.

Enhance the Experience

Casino designers use art to enhance a user’s experience. They can use images and videos to help users navigate the site or play the game. Attractive displays, flashy colours, and 3D and 2D images boost players’ interaction with the site or the app.

Attractive Sites

Visual arts make sites and apps attractive. There are hundreds of online gambling sites; for one to stand out, one must use art effectively. Compelling and interactive attracts new clients and helps retain the existing ones.

Reduces Stress and Anxiety

Viewing visual art helps in the reduction of cortisol levels. Cortisol is responsible for causing stress in the body. The mind slows down when looking at art and allows one to focus on fine details. As a result, the mind blocks distractions, leading to more calmness and less anxiety. Casino with beautiful art on the sites helps players manage stress.

Good for Ads and Social Media Campaigns

Social media is now a crucial tool for businesses. Engaging content attracts, engages and retains customers. Images and videos used for advertising should be attractive, understandable, engaging, relatable and memorable.

Good visual arts help differentiate your brand and communicate your message to the clients. For this reason, casinos such as Hell spin, collaborate with artists to create graphics, videos, memes and gifs to help their ads.

Through visual arts, they can create memorable content to post on social media. The art can indicate promotions, casino bonuses and rewards for each new and existing player. Graphics designers who understand gamers’ psychology can also use engaging visual arts to attract attention.

Conclusion

The 21st century has revolutionized casinos and the artistic, creative space. People can interact with various forms of art from the comfort of their homes. Artists have found a new digital playground in which to play and leave a mark.

With technology, they can redefine natural spaces into the digital world through virtualization. They can use photography, colour, and irregular shape angles to reimagine a new world. For this reason, the visual arts world and online casinos will continue to interact to redefine the gambling space.

Art has changed a lot in recent years, it’s not as strict about what is considered “art” anymore. A lot of contemporary art can still be identified by certain themes, styles and trends that emerge within the arts. There’s also a link to fashion in much of the art we see today.

Contemporary art is the name for art that is at the current time. As an abstract concept, it could be considered to be an idealized embodiment of current ideas about art, beauty and culture across a variety of media. However, some contemporary artists are limited in their expression. For example, they might be ‘radical’ or mostly focus on conceptual art, abstract expressionism, action art, minimalism or formalism alone. Schumpeter often talked about an influential topic in his books, economics. He said that there were three phases of capital development: the primitive accumulation (the first formation of capital), the phase of industrial development and what came after that. He also discussed how theories are sometimes more important than mathem atically proven formulas when it comes to understanding complex processes like art. Art is one of the hardest professions to get into. It takes a long time for artists to build up a career and it’s not always certain that they’ll be “invited” into exclusive museums. But people who make the cut are worthy of admiration and respect, even decades after their work hangs in museums. Art is a constantly changing process and no one knows what it’s future holds. That said, people are certain to see lots of changes in the future including breakthroughs in AI writing assistants and artificial intelligence.

Modern art is supposed to be expressing one’s painful thoughts and feelings, which is what makes it unique and exciting.

Artists really enjoy being curators. It’s as if they had to learn a whole new skill they can use beyond the realm of their work. At the same time, it provides them with invaluable experience and knowledge so that they can continue working on steadily improving their art. One of the benefits of a curator is their ability to take the work of artists and pack it into the spaces they need to highlight important features. It’s not necessary – or even recommended – for him have an actual artistic skill in order to achieve this, exhibitations of art can be the rightful property of curators, so using an artist as a curator may lead to art being misrepresented.

What’s important about an event of this sort is usually its body: the concept, the works themselves, the lighting. And of course inviting lots of people is always a plus. The very atmosphere at these events are often music and light. Despite the above, visiting exhibitions is a good experience for art lovers. You should visit to enjoy, not just to attract customers.

Does art have a message, or does it try to say something?

Contemporaries have noticed some pretty interesting shifts in society. In a recent article, for instance, British cultural theorist Hal Westwood points out how contemporary art is connecting directly with everyday life. This allows experimentation in the world of arts and technology, as well as exploring new ideas on our ever-changing global landscape.

The message of contemporary art is probably the freedom of art, as well as the ability to express one’s own ideas regardless of his or her experiences. It is also about depicting how the conditions and state system affect artwork and artists. Contemporary art is a way of research, it is like a philosophy, just like any science. So you can explore the phenomena, reflect on it, fantasize about it and work out different ways of being creative with it. You can also identify emotions through the viewer’s expressions.

Many art exhibitions are designed to appeal to a broad range of tastes. Traditional appreciations have given way to more contemporary ones, and shows are no longer just for the aesthetes. But it is necessary to master the appropriate terminological apparatus and be familiar with the methods of contemporary artists. It will take some effort, but you can definitely enjoy an article about the Higgs boson in this manner.

Is it possible to declare oneself successful in the field of contemporary art if all success is economically determined in capitals?

In just two cities, Moscow and St Petersburg, there are a lot of interesting things going on in the world of contemporary art. There are also plenty of opportunities to take your art to places like Venice, Paris, London, Berlin or New York. Despite some differences between small towns and these large metropolitan areas though, plenty of opportunity is available for ordinary people who create new contemporary. It is always best to approach doctors with a positive attitude.

Many artists set themselves a goal to create a certain number of pieces per day. Is it possible to do this for an artist that creates in contemporary style? Can they have a “minimum plan” or should you surrender to inspiration?

The Artist says: “Unfortunately, I don’t have any plan… there is inspiration, and there is a deadline. I sometimes have a desire or an offer to do an exhibition, and usually a week before it I can paint 10 good pictures.” But I dream of making this minimal and advise everyone to share their art in the form of practice to 3-5 hours a day.

How does transition from academic painting to the avant-garde happen? To fall in love and see contemporary art, most likely you need to have prerequisite. For example, as a child you loved Impressionism or Expressionism although school obliged. As a young person I didn’t understand the concepts of installation and experimental art. But as I got older, I sensed something in these types of works that resonated with me. It wasn’t a love at first sight, it was an instinctual strong feeling that developed over time.

Art needs to be a fun experience for the audience. There’s no point in giving them the “directions”, that kills the spontaneity and stops it from being an interesting experience. With its layered plot, serious background and the simultaneous openness to the emotional perception of any level of preparedness and erudition, such a work can be enjoyed by people with very different tastes.

Artistic mural painting was most popular in the past centuries. With its help the walls of castles and palaces were decorated. Currently it is used less and less often. But thanks to modern techniques painting more harmoniously blends into the interior. What are the types of artistic wall paintings? With the help of what techniques is it done?

Features of artistic painting

An excellent option for finishing the room, with the help of which you can realize any fantasy, thereby show your creative taste and imagination. Another advantage of this type of art is the versatility of the decor. The image and color palette can be selected for any style of interior. The result will be a harmonious combination of color, design and general background of the room.

The wall, which will be painted in this way, will be the center of everyone’s attention. All the other details will complement it. The general interior should be less garish and bright, which will properly divide the space. Artistic painting performs not only a decorative function. With its help, you can visually increase or decrease the space, disguise wall defects, zone the room.

Acrylic painting

One of the most widespread modern techniques of painting, which uses acrylic paints. For acrylic painting, it is important to carefully prepare the wall. It must be flat, without defects. Paints are applied on a layer of plaster and acrylic primer for maximum adhesion to the surface.

Acrylic painting has many advantages. The paint dries fastest and has no specific odors. Such a technique can be used in rooms with high humidity. The wall after painting is not subject to dampness and is easily cleaned with a soapy solution. The advantages of acrylic painting should also include the safety and environmental friendliness of the material. Therefore, it is allowed to be used even in children’s rooms.

Aerography

This technique can also be used for painting walls in the room. Aerographic drawings are applied with the help of special equipment. In this case, the images are smooth and realistic. Due to the transparency of the layers, shades can be regulated. Home appliances are often also decorated with airbrush.

Invisible painting

One of the most original ways to decorate a room. Invisible fluorescent paints when you turn on ultraviolet light show up in the selected drawing. Sometimes they are applied to a finished acrylic image, thus giving it a fantastic and unconventional look. Especially interesting looks discreetly decorated wall, which transforms into an unusual figure in ultraviolet light.

Using luminous paints

Such a basis contains a phosphor, which is responsible for the bright light of the image. As a rule, painting with luminous paints is carried out over acrylic. The phosphor during the day accumulate light, and at nightfall give it away. Painting is especially appropriate for the premises of night bars, bowling alleys and other facilities. Still glowing drawings look beautiful when painting certain interior elements, such as vases or mirror frames.

Graffiti

Rarely is the interior supplemented by painting in the technique of graffiti. As a rule, it is chosen by creative people or people in a young age. For painting, spray paint in cans is used. The pluses of such include quick drying, application on any surface, inexpensive cost.

3D painting

The most modern technique of artistic painting. Nowadays, there are probably no people who have not heard of three-dimensional painting. Now there is also such an opportunity to decorate walls. 3D-paintings are made with acrylic paints. The main difference is the painting technique. Painting visually increases the room.

Visual effects

Artistic painting of walls has its own secrets, which give the image an extraordinary character. Consider the most commonly used visual effects:

  1. obfuscations – a great technique to break through the space, visually expand or increase the height. For example, a small living room can be enlarged with a picture of a porch overlooking a forest or a trick window and a different landscape.
  2. imitation – with painting, you can imitate different textures, stone, plaster, and wood. Professional execution of such painting will ensure realism and resemblance to the original.

Learning to draw, even at an intermediate level, is a useful skill for anyone. Over time, drawing can turn into a serious hobby that does not require a lot of money, but can deliver incredible pleasure in the case when the drawer achieves certain successes.

It is not necessary to resort to the services of art schools or private teachers. Enough just a strong desire, patience and regular self-study.

Sketch

At the initial stage you can choose some simple object within reach, for example, a favorite cat, because it’s much easier to draw from nature than from memory. A pencil and a sheet of paper is all you need at this stage. One should start drawing with outlines, outlining these outlines with short strokes, trying to keep proportions. Sketch – the basis of the future drawing. Try to make very short strokes, then the outline will be accurate.

Details

Next, begin sketching the details. You should mark the key elements, such as eyes, nose, colored spots on the body of cat and with regard to them trace the secondary details.

Strokes

Drawing shadows will give a natural volume to the drawing. This is a more complex technique, it requires a sharp pencil to shade areas that are not illuminated by the sun on the real object. It is worth trying to use the scale of shading, to begin hatching from the edge of the sheet, changing its direction and the pressure of the pencil, achieving smooth transitions from lighter shades to darker ones.

Exercises

Not superfluous will be training in the image of geometric shapes – flat, and then volumetric, as well as combinations of shapes and lines. Such exercises train the sense of perspective and later allow you to draw imaginary objects. It is important to experiment more, to play with forms. Try to put together real life objects from geometric blocks, for example, a cat’s tail in the form of circles and ovals of various diameters. Try to represent the same object from different angles.

Perfection

Use the eraser to remove all unnecessary things from the picture, analyze what happened and what should be improved. Do not dwell on the same unsuccessful image, it is better to return to it after some time and try again.

It will be useful to study the literature on drawing, on the different styles and schools. For more realism in drawing, you can familiarize yourself with ready-made images in books on anatomy, try to repeat drawings of muscles and skeleton.

The most important thing is more practice. Without it it is simply impossible to learn anything, even with innate abilities.

Handmade gifts have always been valued above the purchased ones. The recently fashionable and widespread word combination handmade sounds more and more like a sign of uniqueness and uniqueness. Handmade is becoming very popular.

Who hasn’t collected herbariums for biology classes and a variety of crafts in school? “Oshibana” or “pressed floristry” is quite ancient art form, came to us from the East. From dried plants you can make full-fledged paintings and collages in many different directions (still life, landscape, portrait).

You get quite full-fledged paintings, only made not with paints and pencils, but by the method of multi-layered application, selecting the color scheme of the dried material.

How to prepare materials?

You can collect natural “colors” at almost any time of the year, depending on the season, weather conditions and regional characteristics. In different seasons leaves of birch, for example, in spring will have a gentle light green hue, and close to winter will change color from golden yellow to dark brown. A unique, unique palette of colors inherent in flowers, shrubs and cereal crops. You can dry the skin of a banana, it will result in a black color. Use the bark and roots, whole assemblages or individual elements of vegetation.

Collected material is dried and made bookmarks in old books and magazines. Glossy pages are not suitable for quality drying. It is best to use old books with dense, porous pages. Bookmarks of plants and flowers do not do very often, after 10-12 pages. Obligatory condition – to press with a nest, something heavy to press.

The sorting process is also fascinating. You need to sort the herbarium by size, color, structure. It is best to store in different files, small boxes and in a dry place.

Creating pictures

Of course, people who have a concept of the basics of drawing and composition will be easier to cope with this type of creativity. But it is possible to engage in erroneous and amateurs, beginners. Just take your favorite picture, drawing, postcard and transfer the contours onto an improvised canvas. Usually it is plywood or fiberboard. It is possible to take ready-made photo frames. Glass is a must. The larger, more monochromatic fragments are glued on first. They are carefully dried under the press. Then the smaller fragments are glued on. At the last stage small details are added, shades and shades are formed, and volume is added if necessary. The already dried oshiban is placed under the glass. The uniqueness of these paintings is undeniable. But also a huge advantage is the possibility of restoring, remodeling, adding necessary elements. Simply remove the unwanted or damaged segment and apply a new layer.

This type of craftsmanship doesn’t require much expense and won’t do much harm to the budget. Involves walking in the fresh air, develops perseverance and fine motor skills, calms the nerves. A great solution for a unique gift that will be exclusive. A wonderful idea for spending time, creativity with children, the whole family.

Visual art reflects reality with the help of visual images, identifying the diversity and many facets of the world around us, the ideas and feelings of human beings. Creativity is a direct way of knowing and manifesting oneself and the world around us. For example, the artist applies his own imagination to do so.

Types of visual art

  • Painting – the art of drawing with paints on a flat surface;
  • Graphics – work with lines and strokes without the use of paints;
  • Sculpture – artwork done by carving and sculpting;
  • Architecture – the process of constructing buildings and building complexes;
  • Decorative Art – creativity based on decorating something.

Painting as a type of fine art

Painting is one of the types of fine art. There are easel painting, decorative and monumental painting. The first subspecies is a creation using oil paints. The process takes place on wooden boards, cardboard and ogolite. Easel painting is the most mass-produced. The monumental sub-species is associated with painting on walls, which is used in the decoration of architectural structures. Such painting is especially popular in Europe. Particularly relevant is the fresco, which is the art of depicting on the raw plaster with special paints. This painting technique was used to decorate most religious buildings.

Decorative painting is the art of painting on interior objects, walls, furniture and so on. Each type of painting has its own nuances. This is primarily a technique of execution. Some works are difficult to separate from graphics, especially when done in watercolor or pastel.

There are such genres of painting:

  • Portrait – the most realistic painting of a person;
  • Landscape – the most popular genre of painting, in which the author depicts the nature;
  • Architectural painting – reminds something of a landscape, but differs by the presence of architectural structures in the picture;
  • Historical painting – in this genre depicts some historical event;
  • Battle genre – depicting military events;
  • Still Life – a picture of flowers, food, dishes and other objects at hand;
  • Marine – seascapes, seashores with a view of the sea;
  • Animalism – depiction of animals and birds, including mythical ones.

Architecture and its types

The name itself is translated from the ancient Greek as the senior builder. As a type of fine art, architecture is the artistic design of a variety of structures. It is based on three foundations: strength, usefulness, and beauty.

The main architectural fields are:

  • Volumetric design – any large-scale creation of buildings and structures;
  • Urban design – the construction and layout of urban buildings;
  • Green architecture – its main objective is to minimize the consumption of energy resources in the application of structures;
  • Landscape – design of gardens, parks and other plant environments;
  • Interior design – decoration of houses, apartments and pavilions from the inside.

Graphics

Another type of fine art, which consists in depicting reality, imagination and experiences of artists. A variety of techniques and materials are used to carry out graphics. Most often a paper sheet is used.

All types of graphics are classified into the following:

  • Monumental graphics – is a wall and printed graphics;
  • Easel painting – a drawing or print is made without referring to a particular style of interior, it all depends on the artistic sense;
  • Decorative – this section includes drawings from books, postcards and other graphic images.

Types of sculpture

Depending on the shape, purpose and material, sculpture can be round or relief. Round includes busts, statues and other variants that can be viewed from either side. Relief are convex or concave shapes on a flat background. There are three types of relief sculpture: bas-relief, high relief and counter-relief. The first type is the most widespread as a decorative decoration of architectural buildings since ancient times. The first sculptures of this type are known from the Paleolithic period. High relief is used to depict multi-figure scenes.

The interior of every apartment or house can be completed with a stylish modern painting. Regardless of your financial situation it will be easy to choose an accessory. The picture complements the room and when properly chosen becomes the final element of the created image. So, for example, the work in bedding colors does not attract public attention, but it complements the interior. Bright and colorful accessories can completely transform a cold and unremarkable room.

The art of our time offers a lot of options for styles, accents and decorations of paintings. The choice among them is quite wide. Choose a suitable option for any room, from the hallway to the bedroom.

What to choose classic or creative works?

The choice between classic or extraordinary paintings depends on the interior design and the purpose of the room. Classic style remains in demand at any time and will fit well in the interior of a bedroom or kitchen. When the room has enough stylish and creative items, then the classics will be very appropriate here. Paintings in soft colors successfully decorate the bedroom.

Creative in paintings are usually represented by such stylistic directions: modern, abstractionism, high-tech and pop art. Such solutions are excellent for stylish rooms that are decorated in a similar direction. The main principle is the right combination of a picture with the background of the interior. The overall look will turn out more interesting and harmonious.

The room could also decorate the modern photo picture. Especially creative is the black and white photo, which will complement any room in the house. No less aesthetically pleasing looks in the office.

Modern picture for the bedroom

In this room, you should not choose works depicting storms or hurricanes, because it can disturb the peace. Also with caution choose bright colors in this room, as some of them are not soothing before sleep. Floral images and tranquil landscapes fit perfectly into the interior.

Accessories for the living room

In this room, the choice of images is much wider. Much depends on the style direction of the interior. For example, to the minimalist style will suit a black and white photo, framed in a metal frame. To the classics it is worth adding modernized works.
